Essential Embossing Dry and Heat Embossing Technique

Essential Embossing
Dry and Heat Embossing Technique
Using dies to dry emboss

Hello there!!!
I'm on the Craftin' Desert Divas Blog
sharing some embossing techniques that are quick and easy!

Steps:
Select your die/ dies to create your emboss background.
Position your die with removable tape ( washi tape) and run through your die cutting machine.
Repeat this process several times, until background is complete.
***TIP*** Be sure to use a rubber mat under your cardstock to ensure the die does not cut through the cardstock.

Choose your word die and die cut several times.
Use one to heat emboss, than adhere to the others to add dimension.

Assemble your card and add embellishments.

CDD- Stunning Stencils

Hey there!
Craftin' Desert Divas is sharing Stunning Stencil creations all week!

I'm on the CDD Blog today sharing a card using the hexagon square from

The suplies I used are listed below
Other supplies... craft spatula (plastic knife would work too)
Stickles Glitter Glue.

I began with my die cut hexagon and separated the frame from the center.
I taped the center to a protected area on my craft space and secured the stencil over it.
Next, I dabbed some ink onto my work space than added a small amount of texture paste.
Mix the two together.
Cover the stencil, smooth and even.

Remove the stencil carefully and wash to remove the paste.
All the stenciled cardstock to dry.

Dry the stencil and adhere to cardstock.
For this step you can place the stencil anywhere you choose.
Ink up black cardstock with white ink.
When finished, die cut the black cardstock with Fancy Frame Die.
Stamp and color your images
I used Copic Shades:
C1, C3, Y11, Y13, Y15, RV10, RV02, R35, BG11, BG15, YG09.
Stamp the sentiment onto vellum paper and trim.

Assemble the card onto white cardstock,  size A2.
Embellish with sequins, a cord bow and glitter glue.

Obsessed With Distress Oxides- CDD Creative Challenge

Hello there!
Happy you stopped by for today's post....
Image may contain: text
I will be showcasing the set Leafy Background

You can do pretty much anything with this stamp!!!!
One of my favorite craft must haves is coordinating paper!!!
If I don't have any on hand....color some up with distress oxide ink!!!
First Card

1.Select your color cardstock.  I chose light pink.
2. I die cut two tags and set them aside.
3. Than I heat embossed the leafy background stamp onto the colored cardstock.
5. Select your ink. I chose worn lipstick distress oxide ink.
6. Ink up the embossed cardstock.
7. Use a die to cut any shape.
Finish the card: I added some splatters of gold paint, added my sentiment, adhered my tags with a twine bow, and scattered some sequins.
Tip: I made sure to fade the ink on the top and bottom for an ombre effect.

Card Two
Same technique, same steps.
I used peeled paint distress oxide ink.
Tip: Always test the ink on cardstock first to see if you like the desired color.
Have fun mixing and matching cardstock and ink...the possibilities
are endless!!!

Card Three
This is a very popular tecknique. Choose two complimenting distress oxide inks.
Heat emboss the image.
Ink up the top and bottom portions of the embossed paper.
Keep it darker at the edges and lighter toward the center.
I added s few splatters of white paint and
finished my card off with sentiments, gold thread and sequins.

Card Four
I heat embossed this card onto watercolor cardstock.
Lightly wet the cardstock.
Add my distress oxides with a paintbrush and some water.
I used colors: peacock feathers, picked raspberry, and carved pumpkin.
I trimmed up the bottom part of the watercolored leaves so they
appear cascading.
Tip: Deposit saturated color at the base of the leaf... add very little water to the brush and pull the
color to the tip of the leaf.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!
Hope you give any of these techniques a try and don't forget to show us!!!!!

I want to share with you a few cards I created...
This is the new set Dam Shame
I made it an interactive card by using a slider to allow the beaver home to
move across the lake.

For both cards I used the new Hill Scene 2 Stencil , for the clouds, lake,
hill, large and small stones.

For the next  twocards I used Critter Punnies...they are just the cutest critters!!!

I used the same stencil as above, Hill Scene 2 Stencil

This trio of cards I used the new Leafy Background Stamp...amazing!!!
I heat embossed all three cards,  but colored them differently.
The above card with Copic Markers... to me it resembles a peacock.
The card below I used distress oxides to watercolor.
This reminds me of stained glass.
For this last card I simply heat embossed on vellum. Than I trimmed the leaves and
 placed them as shown.

Hop along with the Designers for some fun and fabulous creations!!!
